Charlie has enjoyed dabbling in various forms of fine art throughout his younger years, having displayed a natural ability for creating impactful and emotional visual renderings on canvas. He gained important structured training and guidance in his youth, creating a solid foundation from which to expand upon as he gained storied life experience with his life journey and maturation.
In 2013, he began painting in earnest-- creating mixed media pieces for himself, family and friends who had a great appreciation for his work. This dedicated, artistic outpouring unexpectedly proved to be a therapeutic outlet for his bipolar disorder. Soon, much to his surprise, he caught the eye of collectors who began purchasing his work. As an artist, Charlie has attempted to channel his moods and the inner workings of his mind onto canvas, freely using dramatic shapes, colors, unique materials and subjects. His preference for abstracts and the impressionistic milieu has been suggested to be of the same genre of Jean-Michel Basquiat and has allowed him to have his work shown in multiple galleries and exhibitions up and down the West Coast. His works now adorn walls across the United States and beyond.
